What is The Generous Archive?
TGA is a philanthropic advisory firm that helps individuals, families, foundations, and advisors turn personal history into thoughtful, meaningful philanthropy.
Meet Kristin Giant
I created this practice after fifteen years working across law, philanthropy, nonprofit leadership, impact investing, and community development. I have advised families on complex giving decisions, managed grantmaking portfolios, helped build impact investment funds, led nonprofit organizations, and worked alongside communities translating generosity into practical change.
Across every role, I kept coming back to the same truth: the most meaningful giving rarely begins with a spreadsheet.
It begins with a story.
A family business built over generations. A teacher who changed the course of someone’s life. A hometown that shaped a person’s values. A loss, an injustice, a second chance, or a question that never quite went away.
These stories are often present in philanthropic conversations, but they are not always treated as strategic assets. The Generous Archive helps uncover them, preserve them, and turn them into a framework for action.

often, the story is the framework.
Whether the philanthropist, trustees, or next generation want to acknowledge it or not.

Why this work, and why now?
Many families and individuals are already giving, but the process can still feel heavy, disconnected, or harder than it should. The Generous Archive works directly with donors to bring their stories, values, and relationships into the heart of their philanthropy, creating more clarity, freedom, and joy.
We also work alongside existing financial, legal, and philanthropic advisory teams as a specialized overlay, helping clients move beyond charitable structures and tax strategy into questions of meaning, identity, family, legacy, and impact. The goal is for clients to leave saying, “I didn’t know philanthropy could feel this personal, creative, connected, or fun.”
